They both understand that in this life, this is what they have. But what if things had been different? Maybe there is a life where they do end up together. Maybe several. Maybe in every other life they end up together, but they are not living in any of those other realities.

We are attracted to (and potentially fall in love with) the people around us. Or at the very least, we are more attracted to the people we have seen with our own eyes (either in person or on a screen) than people we have never seen before.

Giving gifts has always been my most cherished method through which I express love and care for other people. There’s a lot of reasons why, but at the end of December I finally put my finger on it.
